🍺 Recorded Intoxicated
💫 Essence Capture

The album's most vulnerable moment—a live recording captured whilst intoxicated to preserve raw authenticity. The decision to record drunk wasn't for artistic affectation but to "capture the essence" of emotional truth when all defenses are down. This track transforms pain into cosmic metaphor, with astronomical imagery making the scale of loss feel both intimate and universal.

Word bittersweet, good nothing and the lie. Take it back.
Not hit me with surprises. I'll defend the fool
when the fool lucks out again. In spite of never knowing who to count on when you're down.
Aside from the early sun, Heaven, there's no reason now.
It's not easy holding on but I try to move along while it's hard for you to certify the lie.
Burn from the ground up, or get around it. Learn to be still.
You took the whole damn sun when you left, dear. I could've sworn I was your moon man.
Who flew you down to Venus where the stars all know your name?
Takes getting high to compromise. While I'm selling all those lies that I try to keep alive in the heat of tonight.
While I burn, hell freezes. Love grills to pieces. Hurt, when you think of leaving.
Lay me down to rest with another of your potions. Feed me to rebirth, a bag of mixed emotion.
Don't throw me to the ocean. Regret says, "I'm good, and I know I'm good".
Gold celestial flow or just another good drag? Nobody knows.
When I get back to Earth tainted by the notion, feed me to rebirth.
Throw me to the ocean, a bag of mixed emotion. Relapsed and undone, I'm
like, "Oh, sh*t". Regret's not a motherfucker when I've spoken
Joking about the way life used to be.
Cosmic Metaphor
An astronomical metaphor that makes cosmic scale feel intimate and personal. "You took the whole damn sun" suggests the departed lover was the centre of his universe, whilst "I was your moon man" positions him as orbiting her light. The Venus reference adds mythological weight—the planet of love becomes the destination for someone whose very name is known by stars.
Tainted Return
The journey back to earth "tainted by the notion" captures how experiences change us permanently. The "notion" could be the idea of love, loss, or the knowledge that relationships end. Being "tainted" suggests contamination but also suggests wisdom—he returns to earth changed, carrying the weight of what he's learned about love's fragility.
